Fisheries Information Management System

Fisheries is one of the fast growing areas of economic activity within the agricultural sector.Main sources of Fish are Inland, Marine and Brackish water. Govt. is taking many initiatives on formulating and implanting various schemes for uplifting the livelihood of the fisherpeople and provides all type of infrastructure and financial assistance to make their life easy.

ICT based solution was introduced with the aim of reforming Government delivery system by re-engineering the existing process in welfare schemes by providing infrastructure and financial assistance for simpler and faster flow of information/funds and to ensure accurate targeting of the beneficiaries, de-duplication and reduction of fraud.

FIMS is a Web enabled work flow based system for monitoring fishermen welfare schemes and transfer the contribution / benefit to the fishermen bank account using eDBT.

Objectives

  • To save the time of field functionaries and utilize the same for technology transfer at field level
  • To have more transparency, speed and efficiency in processing and implementation of fisherman welfare schemes.
  • To streamline the activities of Fisheries Sector into a Single platform.
  • Facilitate Budgetary Planning for decision makers .
  • To transfer Govt benefits to the bank account of beneficiaries using e-dbt .
  • The system has 2 major components

  • Creation of fishermen database
  • MIS for fishermen welfare schemes.
  • Electronic direct benefit transfer of subsidy/relief/assistance to the beneficiaries bank account using e-dbt .
